1. Agreement to Terms

BotOut™ is provided by BotOut™, a Bermuda-based service. By accessing and using this Service, you accept these terms in full.

2. Description of Service

BotOut™ is a tool that analyzes written content for patterns commonly flagged by AI detection systems like Turnitin, GPTZero, and Originality AI. It is designed for students, writers, creators, job seekers, and professionals who want to verify their human-written work before submitting it.

What BotOut™ Does:

• Scans written content for AI trigger words and patterns
• Provides explanations for why phrases trigger detection
• Suggests alternatives to flagged phrases
• Re-analyzes content after fixes (Pro/QuickFix tiers only)

What BotOut™ Does NOT Do:

• Guarantee 100% accuracy in predicting how any AI detector will score your content
• Write or rewrite your content for you
• Help you pass off AI-generated work as human-written
• Store your submitted content

4. Subscriptions & Billing

• Free Tier: 3 scans per day, no payment required
• QuickFix Tier: $1.99 one-time charge for auto-fix + re-analysis
• Pro Tier: $9.99/month, billed monthly, 100 scans per month

Payments are processed by Paddle. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. You can cancel anytime through your account settings.

Refunds: No refunds are offered. You have full access to the Service before paying. If you choose to upgrade, you are confirming you understand what you're purchasing.

5. Intellectual Property

BotOut™ and its content (including the database of AI trigger words, detection algorithms, and analysis results) are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of any content you submit. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the Service or its content.

6. Limitation of Liability

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

• Changes to Turnitin's algorithm or other AI detection systems
• Inability to predict how any AI detector will score your specific content
• False negatives or false positives
• Any grades, publication decisions, hiring outcomes, academic standing, or professional consequences resulting from using the Service
• Unauthorized access to your account due to weak passwords or compromised devices
• Third-party service outages (Paddle, Anthropic, etc.)
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Maximum Liability: We are not liable for damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

BotOut™ is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy in detecting AI patterns, that any AI detector will flag exactly what we predict, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms, attempt to use the Service to deceive academic institutions, publishers, employers, or any third party, attempt to hack or abuse the Service, or engage in any illegal activity. Termination is at our sole discretion and may be permanent.

9. Ethical Use

BotOut™ is built for people who wrote their own content and want to protect it from wrongful AI flags. We assume you are using the Service ethically — for writing you created yourself. Whether you're a student, writer, creator, job seeker, or professional: if you use BotOut™ to help pass off AI-generated content as your own, you are taking full responsibility for any consequences, academic, professional, or otherwise. BotOut™ is not liable for any such outcomes.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bermuda, without regard to conflicts of law. Any disputes will be resolved through good-faith negotiation, then binding arbitration if negotiation fails. You agree not to file a class action lawsuit against BotOut™.
