1. What BotOut™ Is & Isn't

BotOut™ IS:

A pattern-matching tool that identifies AI trigger words
An educational resource to help you understand AI detection
A writing improvement aid
A tool to help you avoid false positives from AI detectors like Turnitin, GPTZero, and Originality AI

BotOut™ IS NOT:

A guarantee that AI detectors will not flag your content
A way to help you pass off AI-generated work as human-written
A replacement for actually writing your own content
Legal advice, academic advice, or professional writing advice

2. Accuracy Limitations

We cannot guarantee how Turnitin or other AI detectors will score your specific content, 100% accuracy in identifying all AI patterns, or that our analysis matches Turnitin's analysis exactly.

Why? Turnitin's algorithm is proprietary and secret. Algorithms change and evolve over time. Every piece of writing is different. Edge cases exist that no tool can catch. Our Pro tier achieves 85–90% accuracy based on our analysis, but this is NOT a guarantee.

3. Ethical Use

You are responsible for complying with your school's honor code, your employer's policies, publisher guidelines, or any relevant platform rules. Do not use BotOut™ to misrepresent AI-generated content as your own work.

BotOut™ is not liable for academic consequences (failed grades, suspension, expulsion), disciplinary action from your school, damage to your academic record, or any other negative consequences from using the Service.

4. No Professional Advice

BotOut™ does not provide academic advising, legal advice, professional writing services, or editorial support. If you need professional help with your writing, consult a writing professional, editor, or appropriate advisor.

5. Technical Limitations

The Service may have bugs or errors
The Service may be temporarily unavailable
AI detection algorithms change and evolve
Our analysis may not match Turnitin's analysis

We are not liable for any technical issues or inaccuracies.

6. Not Affiliated with Turnitin or Others

BotOut™ is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Turnitin, OpenAI, Google, your school or university, or any government agency. We are an independent third-party tool.

7. No Guarantee of Results

Using BotOut™ does not guarantee your content will pass any AI detector, that your grade, publication, or application will be accepted, or that you will avoid any integrity flags. Results vary based on your specific content and the detector used.

8. Mis-AI-dentity Risk Score Guarantee

We guarantee that all suggested word swaps will reduce your content's AI suspicion score when applied. However:

The suggested swaps may require you to adjust your sentence structure to fit naturally
Adjusting your sentence to fit a swap is editing, not rewriting
You have full control to accept, reject, or customize any suggestion
We do not guarantee that every swap will work perfectly in your specific context — that's your decision
If a swap doesn't fit, use "Show Me More" for alternatives or write your own version

What we're protecting: Your writing stays authentically yours while reducing false AI flags.

9. Changes to AI Detection

Turnitin and other AI detection systems update their algorithms regularly. We cannot predict how these changes will affect accuracy or results.
